In October, we stepped into Hospital Santo Hermano Pedro Betancourt and saw both beauty and heartbreak. Bright murals and caring staff fill the pediatric wing—but so do urgent needs. Families arrive with hope, but resources are stretched thin. Beds are few. Supplies are limited. And yet, healing happens every day.

Nestled in the heart of Catacamas, Olancho, Honduras, Hospital Santo Hermano Pedro Betancourt stands as a beacon of hope for those in need. Located in one of the country’s most rural and underserved regions, the hospital provides free, high-quality medical care to individuals and families who would otherwise go without treatment.
Olancho is the largest department in Honduras, with vast, mountainous terrain that makes access to healthcare a challenge for many communities. Catacamas, one of its major cities, serves as a hub for thousands of people from surrounding villages who rely on the hospital for critical care. With limited government-funded medical facilities in the region, our hospital is usually the only option for those facing illness or injury.
